The University of Michigan-Dearborn lecturers and students visiting University of Gdansk

In May and June 2022, we will host five lecturers and sixteen students from the University of Michigan-Dearborn (UM-D) at the University of Gdańsk. As part of the cooperation between the Faculty of History at the University of Gdańsk and UM-D, initiated by Anna Muller (UM-D) and Anna Mazurkiewicz (UG), American students and students from the University of Gdańsk will take part in  the Intro to Creative Writing and Postwar European Cinema classes. The classes will be conducted by lecturers from the USA: Bill DeGenaro (https://umdearborn.edu/william-degenaro) and Jorge Gonzalez del Pozo (https://umdearborn.edu/jorge-gonzalez-del-pozo).

The implementation of this program is possible thanks to the close cooperation of the Faculty of History with the English Philology and American Studies at the Faculty of Languages UG. The exchange program, embracing both lecturers and students from the US, was developed by Scott Riggs (UM-D), who first visited our campus in June 2019.

Over the next two months, several lecturers will be given by the Michigan guests. The first lecture The Bad Speller: Error, Satire, and Ridicule is going to be given by Bill DeGenaro on May 11, 2022, 11:30-13:00, in hall 1.46 at Faculty of History building.

Jorge Gonzalez del Pozo will give a lecture organized in cooperation with the Andrzej Wajda Film Center at the University of Gdańsk. We will announce the place and date soon. We will keep you informed about all the events related to hosting lecturers stay.
