"The Western Baltic Sea Area in the Cold War" Seminar

Our students and graduatestudents at the Doctoral Schoolof Humanities and SocialSciences joined students fromthe University of Flensburg,the University of Southern Denmark, and the Universityof Rostock on a week-long seminar
 
"WESTLICHE OSTSEERAUM IMKALTEN KRIEG. THE WESTERN BALTIC SEA AREA IN THECOLD WAR,"
 
where they attended lecturesby: prof. Steen Andersen(Danish National Archives),prof. Władysław Bułhak (IPN),prof. Stefan Creuzberger (UniRostock), dr Sabine Grabowski(Gerhart Hauptmann Haus), dr Volker Höffer (BStU-Rostock)prof. Anna Mazurkiewicz (UG),and prof. Thomas WegenerFriis (SDU).
 
During the seminar, the studentsalso visited the Museum of the SecondWorld War and the EuropeanSolidarity Center.
 
Danish, German and Polish studentsalso worked together on a project,where they analyzed primarysources from Bogdan Borusewicz’spersonal collection. The students’collective work will complete theexhibition on Martial Law that willbe presented in the Faculty ofHistory at the University of Gdańskin early December 2021.
